Butte Bible Fellowship is seeking a retired or semi-retired Pastor for our traditional, older congregation to lead and nurture the spiritual growth of the church body.
We are a non-denominational, board-led church with monthly board meetings. The pastor will be responsible for preaching weekly sermons, providing pastoral care and counseling, overseeing discipleship and working collaboratively with the board and congregation to support church ministries and ongoing activities.
Weekly activities include Sunday school, Men’s and Women’s Bible studies, and a weekly prayer meeting. Currently an elder leads the worship. A part-time paid position could be made available if desired. We sing traditional hymns and some choruses familiar to our Church body.
Church Demographics:
The average age of attendees ranges from 70-90, with few younger people in attendance. Currently no children attend.
Regular Church attendance is typically between 75-90 people. In addition, our services are live streamed via Zoom for those unable to attend in person.
Our services are also broadcast on YouTube, the radio (KKXX), and via Facebook.
Job Expectations:
- Be a preacher/teacher of the Word of God, able to regularly lead Sunday services, Bible studies, and special events as needed.
- Attend and work with Board members as a voting member, participating in monthly board meetings and planning sessions.
- Be a student of the Word, able to communicate a clear message of sound scriptural theology and doctrine through sermons and teaching sessions.
- Display the “fruit of the spirit” to all, demonstrate love and prayerfulness toward all, actively engaging with the church community and visiting with those in need.
- Have experience as a successful pastor and counselor. Meet the requirements for an elder leader as outlined in 1 Timothy, Titus 1, 1 Peter 5.
Basic Salary/Benefits:
- Starting Salary $35,000 per year (which includes a housing allowance)
- Allowance for mileage, if needed
- 4 weeks’ vacation annually
- An office at the church and office staff are available as needed.
